Culturing Friendships Over Tea
Over 50 members of the RPKDAC and the Plano Richardson Alumnae Panhellenic held a joint celebration in honor of International Women’s Friendship Month on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the home of Neva Cochran. Kyle Stewart, co-owner of The Cultured Cup, spoke on the “The Power and Benefits of Tea” and brought three teas for each attendee to taste.
International Women’s Friendship Month was created by and fostered by Kappa Delta, and it began as National Women’s Friendship Day in 1999 and migrated to a full month shortly after that. It officially took on its ‘International’ name in 2009. The celebration allows women to remember their cherished friends who support, encourage, and believe in them. Let’s face it, we all need our girlfriends; they listen to us when we need to vent, they cry with us when we need to cry, laugh with us about the silliest things, and they hold our hands to give us the courage we need at just the right time. This is the month to be thankful for not only our KD sisters, but all of our female friends.
