Kappa Delta Alumnae Support & Encourage Women & Children of Collin County
Seventeen alumnae of Kappa Delta Sorority made nearly 60 Valentine goody bags to give a little extra support and encouragement to the women and children served by Family Outreach of Richardson/Plano/Collin County. Family Outreach is a non-profit agency dedicated to strengthening families and preventing child abuse and neglect. The goody bags consisted of Target gift cards, toiletries, makeup, and perfume for the moms and toys, games, coloring books, healthy snacks, and other items for the children, all donated by members of the Richardson/Plano Kappa Delta Alumnae Chapter.
Each women’s bag included a card with a quote from C. JoyBell C. that the chapter members felt truly embodied a woman’s spirit. “The strength of a woman is not measured by the impact that all her hardships in life have had on her; but the strength of a woman is measured by the extent of her refusal to allow those hardships to dictate her and who she becomes.”
Family Outreach is a longtime philanthropy of the Richardson/Plano Kappa Delta Alumnae Chapter, originally brought to the attention of the chapter by one of the chapter’s now-White Rose Circle members, Kay Walgren, who served on the organization’s Board for many years.
